Three cooks in the kitchen — for once, that's a good thing.

SmartFlavr is an AI-powered social recipe platform built to make discovering, sharing, and adapting recipes easier and more connected — pairing a modern web platform with the Claude API so home cooks get recipes tailored to their tastes, smart ingredient swaps, and a community of fellow food lovers to share it all with. Built as an independent project, on the idea that cooking is better when it's social, adaptable, and a little bit smarter.

Aaryn Warrior

Lead Developer & CEO

GIS researcher who spends his free time building the cooking app he wishes existed.

Aaryn is a software developer and graduate student, currently pursuing his MA in Geography at the University of Northern Iowa after finishing a BA in Computer Science. He also works as a Research and Teaching Assistant in GIS. SmartFlavr is where he gets to explore his own ideas, mixing web development with AI to make cooking more social and discoverable. He's drawn to projects that build tools that are useful, a little clever, and fun to use.

Conner Vauthier

Chief of Marketing

Marketing and psychology grad who studies why people click "save recipe" — then makes sure they do.

Conner is a recent graduate with a BA in Marketing and Psychology from the University of Northern Iowa. As Chief of Marketing at SmartFlavr, he combines his passion for creativity, consumer behavior, and storytelling to share SmartFlavr with the world. He enjoys exploring new ideas and turning them into things that are useful, engaging, and fun.

Ian Dunleavy

Chief of Operations

Studies finance and risk management, but really just wants better ingredient advice.

Ian is a finance, economics, and risk management student at the University of Iowa, joining SmartFlavr to direct the future of flavortown. Outside of cooking, he spends time creating shareholder value and leading the next generation of finance.
